Transcript of payment of interest on railroad loans, 1837-1845.

The state treasurer was authorized by the legislature to issue scrip or certificates of debt in the name of the Commonwealth to aid the construction of various railroads throughout Massachusetts. Transcript of payment of interest was created by the treasurer from information regarding payments on such debt submitted by the treasurers of the Andover and Haverhill Railroad Corporation (St 1837, c 188) and the Norwich and Worcester Railroad Company (St 1837, c 84) .
